How are the jury members selected?
Jurists are selected by AFP Founder and Executive Director, Brooke “B” Sonenreich. Every jury is comprised of film industry professionals, from film producers to film festival program directors to filmmaker grant directors, etc. If you think you might be a good fit for our jury, please contact us directly at hello[at]atlfilmparty.com
Who should submit to ATLFilmParty?
Although there is no age limit to AFP and no submission fee, we only consider ATL-based and raised filmmakers. Please do not submit to AFP if you do not fit that requirement.
How often does ATLFilmParty put out calls for films?
AFP is a quarterly film competition (we call each quarter a "cycle"). We usually put out calls 2-3 months prior to the deadline. We'll announce these calls here on the AFP site, and on our social channels. We accept submissions via the ATLFilmParty FilmFreeway.
Where is ATLFilmParty held?
AFP events have made themselves home at Switchyards Downtown Club (151 Ted Turner Dr NW, Atlanta, GA 30303). The ground level serves as the reception and voting area, and the subterranean level is where we screen all the films twice during the evening.
We encourage attendees to RSVP (free of charge) via the ATLFilmParty Eventbrite.
What are the rules of the event?
Each attendee receives a ballot upon entry. Once entering the party, you’ll be given the opportunity to see each of the finalists’ films throughout the evening, as they are edited together and projected twice throughout the party. Towards the end of the evening, the winner of the cycle is announced. The winner(s) of the most votes receives a cash prize at the end of the event and a mentorship - both provided by the presenting sponsor of that particular cycle.
